This also handles keef/hash well, especially if you top a bed of herbs with it. Concentrates go straight into the bowl up top. Temps need to be a little lower than for dry herb, or it'll burn off half your stuff before you get a chance to hit it. Carb cap is a must, esp. if you're wanting to do a combo-hit. I also have a ceramic coaster I put on top of the unit to retain heat and keep my clumsy hands away from the heating element.

They suggest putting it at noon for flower and higher for dabs ( which I have never tried). I have a glass bong and fortuitously the hose fits into the bong which allows me to vape using water filtration. It is a bit tricky to get the ground flower into the glass tube. The tube is about 3/4 inch wide and 4 inches long. A funnel or other device might make it easier. For now I just use my fingers. Another challenge for this newbie was knowing when the flower was all.used up as it browns but does not burn up like a joint. My local bud tender recommended just continuing to vape the flower until it "turns black." He noted it will be less tasty and strong over time but you avoid wasting any. Still experimenting with this myself. The unit feels sturdy and well made. It is fairly safe as the hot bits are not accessible so if it falls on the floor nothing will catch on fire. Overall I am enjoying this vape but am so new to the game I have nothing to compare it to.

To be honest I smoke to often to clean the screen/try and take it out so I dab with it more with a small herb bowl packed (smaller bowls get bigger hits) just not as many and easier to clean out. With a dab or 2 on top of the nail. I use the volcano I have more for dry herb because it's sooo much easier to dump out clean and refill.

After 5 minutes the bud was not vaporizing. A downside is there is no temperature read out, just a dial They say to preheat and vape flower at the noon position. I found 1 pm position worked better for me. Also noticed if I did not put enough bud in the glass bowl it didn't work well. Seems you need about 1/3 to 1/2 g towork well. Using the bong I could see a white mist/fog fill the bong. I Read recently holding in the inhaled **** does not enhance one's high, but slower, deeper breaths do. Holding in the vapor was almost as harsh as smoking. The effect, like with smoking is pretty immediate. The ditanium is pretty safe in that the heated parts are imbedded in a wooden box so even if it fell off the table it would be unlikely to start a fire or burn anyone. I am happy with this purchase but have no other vaporizers to compare it to. Down side using flower is no digital read out of temperature and tricky to get chopped upflower into glass tube. It is pretty easy to dismantle and clean. My only lasting confusion as a new vud vaper is knowing when the bud is used up. It does not turn to ash just gets brown and less potent. My bud tender at winewood organics in Ann arbor MI recommended I just keep vaping the bud "until it turns black." Or you can smoke the vaped bud but that is pretty harsh on the lungs. I also got this discounted to 220.00 with delivery. Don't know if I'd spend more or if there are other better tabletop models at this price.
